Australia: Avian Influenza, poultry

In Henley Brook, Western Australia, one duck from a flock of backyard birds was found to be infected with low pathogenic Avian Influenza H5.

Mainland: Measles

As of the end of February 2013, 151 cases of measles with 2 deaths had been confirmed in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province in the Mainland.

Worldwide: Dengue Fever

Mexico reported cases of Dengue Fever.

In Central America, cases of Dengue Fever have been reported in Costa Rica and Honduras. In Costa Rica, 3505 cases with 1 death were reported. In Honduras, 1487 cases were reported.

In South America, cases of Dengue Fever have been reported in Argentina, Colombia, Paraguay and Venezuela. In Argentina, 16 cases were reported. In Colombia, 12882 cases were reported.  In Paraguay, 54747 suspected cases and 31978 confirmed cases were reported. In Venezuela, 7149 cases were reported.

In the Pacific region, cases of Dengue Fever have been reported in New Caledonia and Solomon Islands. In New Caledonia, more than 3327 cases with 1 death were reported. In Solomon Islands, nearly 400 suspected cases and 162 confirmed cases were reported.

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Novel Coronavirus Infection [Update]

The Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has informed World Health Organization (WHO) of a new confirmed case of infection with the novel coronavirus. The patient, a 69-year-old male, was hospitalized on 10 February 2013 and died on 19 February 2013. To date, WHO has been informed of a global total of 14 confirmed cases of human infection with novel coronavirus, including eight deaths.

Columbia: Hepatitis A

An outbreak of hepatitis A infection with 7 confirmed and 31 suspected cases has been reported in Huila Department of Columbia.

Argentina: Hantavirus Infection

A suspected case of Hantavirus infection was reported in Argentina. A 2-year-old girl was affected and died of the infection.

Panama: Hantavirus Infection

A case of Hantavirus infection was detected in Sona district in Panama.

Pakistan: Leishmaniasis

Nearly 1300 Leishmaniasis cases were reported in 2 months in Pakistan.

India: Leishmaniasis

Leishmaniasis was widely reported in the northeast states in India. One person died.

Mexico reported an outbreak of H7N3 Avian Influenza in Guanajuato and 49665 birds were killed.
