Asia: Cholera

In Thailand, 110 cases of Cholera were reported in Phuket so far this year.
In Vietnam, an outbreak of diarrhoea disease affecting 1 216 people was reported in 13 localities in the northern and central regions. A total of 157 persons was diagnosed Cholera. The affected areas included Hanoi city, Haiphong city, Hai Duong province, Ha Tay province, Hung Yen province, Thai Binh province, Bac Ninh province, Nan Dinh province, Ha Nam province and central Nghe An province.
In Nepal, an outbreak of Cholera which killed 34 people was reported in Saptari district.
In Iraq, a total of 4 527 laboratory-confirmed cholera cases with 22 deaths were reported.

Indonesia: Avian Influenza, human (update)

In Indonesia, the Ministry of Health confirmed 2 new human cases of H5N1 Avian Influenza infection The first one was a 30-year-old female from Banten province, who died on 3 November. The investigation team found that there were poultry deaths in the case's neighborhood in the days prior to her onset of symptoms. The second one was a 31-year-old Indonesian man from Riau province on Sumatra island who died of Avian Influenza on 6 November. Apart from these 2 cases, an 8-month-old baby living less than 1 km away from the man was suspected of having Avian Influenza and was now under treatment in the hospital. The number of Avian Influenza cases in Indonesia is 113, of which 91 have been fatal.

Philippines: Diarrhoea

In Northern Samar Province of the Philippines, 105 people suffered from diarrhoeal disease with one death were reported. The outbreak could have stemmed from a water supply contaminated by human and animal waste, and spread by recent rains.

Vietnam: Avian Influenza, human

In Vietnam, a suspected human case of Avian Influenza was reported in Can Tho city. The victim was a South Korean man whose father in Korea was also suffering from pneumonia-like symptoms.

Vietnam: Avian Influenza, poultry

In Vietnam, an outbreak of Avian Influenza which killed 590 ducks was reported in a farm in a northern province, Ha Nam. It was the fifth report of the disease among poultries in recent one month.

India: Chikungunya Fever

In India, hundreds of cases of Chikungunya Fever with 5 deaths were reported in Orissa.

Pakistan: Dengue Fever

In Pakistan, twelve new patients were diagnosed Dengue Fever on 3 November. The number of Dengue Fever patients has risen to 70.

Africa: Diarrhoea

In Mpumalanga province of South Africa, more than 400 people felt sick in an outbreak of diarrhoea disease which began two weeks ago.
In Zimbabwe, an outbreak of diarrhea disease affecting 3 600 people was reported in Bulawayo city.

Sudan: Rift Valley Fever (update)

As of 7 November, 228 cases of Rift Valley Fever including 84 deaths were reported in White Nile, Sinnar, and Gezira states of Sudan. Out of the 228 cases, more than 25 cases were laboratory-confirmed.

Cayman Islands: Dengue Fever

There were 1 confirmed case and 18 suspected cases of Dengue Fever in the Cayman Islands recently. Among the suspected cases, seven of them have no recent travel history to countries with Dengue Fever.
