Colombia: Yellow Fever

The number of Yellow Fever cases has risen to 27 with 8 deaths since the end of December 2003. 5 national parks, including Sierra Nevada, have been closed to visitors.

Indonesia: Dengue Fever

Dengue Fever has killed at least 3 people in Yogyakarta, Indonesia last week while 7 others remain hospitalized.

Hong Kong SAR: Dengue Fever, imported

One case of Dengue Fever was confirmed by the Department of Health, making a total of 5 confirmed imported case in 2004.



The patient complained of fever, headache, skin rash, muscle and eye pain while in New Zealand on 4 January this year. She returned to Hong Kong and followed up in hospital. She was diagnosed to have Dengue Fever and recovered now.

Thailand: Avian influenza A (H5N1)

The total number of human cases of confirmed Avian Influenza H5N1 cases in Thailand is 2 since January 23 this year. The worst-hit province is Suphan Buri.

Vietnam: Avian influenza A (H5N1)

The total number of human cases of confirmed H5N1 Avian Influenza cases in Vietnam is 7. Five occurred in Hanoi and two in Ho Chi Minh City.



Six had died since January 11 this year.
