Mainland: Avian Influenza, bird [update-6]

Mainland had reported a new wave of H5N1 strain of Avian Influenza outbreak among poultry in Shishou of Hubei, Molidawa of Inner Mongolia, Yinchuan of Ningxia, Xiaoyi of Shanxi, Miquan of Xinjiang, UrumChi of Xinjiang, and Chuxiong of Yunnan. A total of 7 300, 3 378, 1 130, 9 386, 6 120, 181 and 11 000 poultry have been culled by the Ministry of Agriculture in the above affected areas respectively.

Mainland: Avian Influenza, human [update-2]

The Ministry of Health in Mainland confirmed the third human case of H5N1 Avian Influenza infection. The case was a 35-year-old female farmer in Xiuning of Anhui province. She developed symptoms on 11 November and died on 22 November.

Vietnam: Avian Influenza, human [update-5]

The Ministry of Health in Vietnam had confirmed a further case of human infection with H5N1 Avian Influenza. The case was a 15-year-old boy from Hai Phong Province. He developed symptoms on 14 November and was recovering.

Since mid-December 2004, Vietnam had reported 66 cases, of which 22 died.

Sudan: Yellow Fever

The Sudan Federal Ministry of Health reported an outbreak of Yellow Fever. As of 24 November 2005, 491 cases and 126 deaths were reported from different localities in South Kordofan State (Abu Gebiha, Rashad, Dilling, Kadugli and Talodi).

Indonesia: Malaria

An outbreak of Malaria, affecting 266 victims with 6 deaths, was reported in East Lombok, Indonesia. The outbreak was first detected at the end of October.

Venezuela: Yellow Fever [update-2]

In Venezuela, 12 confirmed and 442 suspected cases of Yellow Fever had been reported in four different states, namely, Merida, Apure, Bolivar and Portuguesa.
