India: Chikungunya Fever

The India Bihar government has issued an alert following the detection of the first ever outbreak of Chikungunya Fever in the state. With the detection of 3 new cases, the total number of Chikungunya Fever patients has risen to 37.

Indonesia: Avian Influenza, human

The Ministry of Health, Indonesia, announced one new confirmed human case of H5N1 Avian Influenza on 15 November. The total number of cases was 182, among which 150 were fatal.

Indonesia: Chikungunya Fever

There are 2 human cases of Chikungunya Fever in the area adjacent to the City of Bukittinggi, Indonesia.

Malaysia: Hepatitis A

In Malaysia, river water was believed to be the source of the Hepatitis A outbreak that infected 800 people in three villages in Hulu Terengganu district.

Syria: Black Travel Alert

As widespread violent clashes occurred in many cities across Syria, including Daraa, Latakia, Damascus, Baniyas, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, resulting in serious casualties, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has raised the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) for Syria to Black. Residents are urged to avoid all travel to the country. Those already there should attend to their personal safety and avoid protests and large gatherings of people.

Philippines: Black Travel Alert

Following the hostage taking incident in the Philippines which had caused casualties, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has raised the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) for the Philippines to Black. Hong Kong residents are urged to avoid all travel to the Philippines. Those already there should attend to their personal safety and stay alert.
