According to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases in Japan infection rates of Norovirus is increasing since November 2012 and a hospital outbreak in Daito, Osaka has caused 2 deaths. Travellers are advised to observe environmental and personal hygiene to prevent norovirus gastroenteritis.

Uganda: Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever [Update]
As of 28 November 2012, the Ministry of Health of Uganda reported 7 cases of Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever in Luweero and Kampala. Of which, 4 deaths were resulted.

Democratic Republic of the Congo: Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever [Update]
The health authority in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has declared an end to the latest outbreak of Ebola Haemorrhagic Fever on 23 November 2012. A total of 34 people died of the infection.

Tunisia: West Nile Virus Infection
In the Bizerte governorate, Tunisia, 5 cases of West Nile Virus infections have been reported. Of these, one of them died of the infection.

Dominica Republic: Leptospirosis
Health officials in Dominica have reported an outbreak of leptospirosis on the island. More than 50 persons contracted the disease and 7 confirmed deaths were resulted.

As widespread violent clashes occurred in many cities across Syria, including Daraa, Latakia, Damascus, Baniyas, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, resulting in serious casualties, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has raised the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) for Syria to Black. Residents are urged to avoid all travel to the country. Those already there should attend to their personal safety and avoid protests and large gatherings of people.

Philippines: Black Travel Alert
Following the hostage taking incident in the Philippines which had caused casualties, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has raised the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) for the Philippines to Black. Hong Kong residents are urged to avoid all travel to the Philippines. Those already there should attend to their personal safety and stay alert.
