Hepatitis A Immunoglobulin
Immunisation schedule
Hepatitis A immunoglobulin should be administered 4 to 10 days before departure to areas with high prevalence of Hepatitis A. A second injection is recommended 4 to 5 months after the first dose if a longer period of protection is required.
Recommendations
It is recommended to those travelling to regions where there is a high prevalence of Hepatitis A. Because its onset of action is fast, it is particularly suitable for those who need to depart at short notice.
Adverse reactions
Local reactions with pain and mild fever may occur.
Contraindications
The benefits of treatment must be weighed against the possible risks in patients with agammaglobulinaemia, IgA deficiency and previous reaction after administration of immunoglobulin.
